What I changed and how I changed it...

PART 2: If you’re just picking up here, scroll back to the last post to get caught up!⠀

First off; addressing a few questions:⠀

❗️I am 5’6’’ and ~121lbs⠀

❗️Changes in photos and bloating happened slowly and continue to require patience; I did not begin perfectly executing on day 1 of my new targets⠀

❗️These are lifestyle efforts and as with anything, change is hard; I am all for slow and steady transitions as opposed to firing on all cylinders right out of the gate!⠀

But here is how my dietary adjustments have affected me so far:⠀

👉Lower abdomen measurement has dropped 2 inches⠀

👉Stomach is much flatter all day long⠀

👉I feel super charged after my post workout meal which is my highest carb meal of the day⠀

You can see from the photos that the bloated belly has been reduced, but it’s also very important to note that my body composition and weight have not changed. ⠀

The difference in scale weight (seen in Part 1) is not only a false representation, but also just one of the multiple tools I’m using to measure progress. Because I’ve been looking at week-to-week averages (a much more accurate reflection than day-to-day), I am aware that those are just two arbitrary days of metrics...and meaningless until rolled into all the other data I’m collecting.⠀

However, that drop in waist measurement IS an honest reflection and a direct result of more optimal digestion. Here’s what I did:⠀

1️⃣ Switched my higher carb intake to include more faster digesting ones like bread, white rice, pasta vs. broccoli, cauliflower, greens⠀

2️⃣ Committed to balancing my meals among all 3 macros to hit that fat number; for example, I still eat plenty of oats (considered a slow digesting carb), but when I do, I include adequate fats - usually in the form of@cocoabarinajaron my ZPO and@lilyssweetson my cake pop blondie⠀

3️⃣ Swapped out one high volume meal per day in exchange for something more dense; think a@g2gbarbar vs a jello yogurt bowl⠀

I will have a full day of eating - low fiber edition - to share soon. Stay tuned!⠀

In Part 3 I’ll address more about my current feelings at my mid-way point, as I’ve committed 12 weeks to this! I’ll also share my BIGGEST surprise.
