'IIFYM' is Right For Me - Could It Be Right For You?

These photos taken 2 years, and what can only be considered a lifetime apart. ⠀ September 2017: I was coming off a summer trying Keto. I had learned about macros a year prior but fell off the wagon somewhere in the holiday haze after neglecting to properly reverse out. I needed to buy new jeans. Bigger jeans. It felt ick, not because of the size but because of how I was feeling in my body. Orangetheory workouts fueled by fat and not carbs was a recipe for physical and emotional turmoil.⠀ September 2019: What a difference some balance, patience, weightlifting and protein did for my body and mind. I am still the same person, have plenty of insecurities and honestly, am still learning to trust my instincts. But breaking out of the anything-worth-doing-is-worth-overdoing-cycle opened my eyes to a whole new happier way of enjoying life!⠀ My IIFYM (If It Fits Your Macros) approach to eating is not for everyone, and I get the hesitation. But I am so glad I pushed past my worry that it was ‘too restrictive’ and realized it gave me all the freedom I never new I was missing.
