Don't Let Perfect Be The Enemy Of Good

So you’ve decided to establish a goal. Congratulations! It’s so fun to be the boss of your own life. ⠀ Next up is mindset. It is important to accept that you will not hit the ground running and you need to be ok with building the plane while flying it at first. And this is actually a really crucial component to success. Continuing on after ‘imperfect’ days, allows us to figure our shit out and learn from our mistakes. Just go with it. ⠀ ✨✨✨No matter what happens you are always only one meal or workout away from getting back on track. You CANNOT mess this up. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good (Voltaire)✨✨✨ ⠀ So embrace those days where you don’t hit your protein or you failed to plan and end up eating your toddler’s lunch. From that experience, you now have the perspective to FIX whatever didn’t work. It’s really pretty empowering when you re-frame ‘failures’ as ‘insights.’ ⠀ The best news? It does get easier!! Little by little, day by day, your ‘imperfect’ efforts will become the foundation of your new habits!⠀ Some of my favorite easy-button tricks:⠀ ✨I pack snacks for myself just as I do for my kids - in summer roll with an insulated bag almost everywhere I go 🙃⠀ ⠀✨Prepare my go-to snacks/meals the night before (overnight oats, yogurt bowl base, chopped veggies) ⠀

✨Always have a protein source at the ready (shredded chicken, pork or ground turkey are my favorites because they leave so much room for fats elsewhere)⠀ ⠀✨Beverages are always on hand; they are a great bridge to your next meal if you’re feeling snacky - some of my favorites are zevia, sparkling water and black coffee⠀ ⠀✨Anticipate my hunger levels and plan my day around that - I tend to be hungriest at the beginning and end of my days, so I always have a big breakfast and dinner planned. Then work in a few smaller meals in between - and always a dessert 😍⠀ No matter your goal, make sure you are including sustainability in your measure of success so you only have to crush it once!
